01. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, registering for, or using the AutoChangelog platform, website, and automated release note generation services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of a company, organization, or legal entity, you represent that you have full legal authority to bind such entity.

If you do not agree with any provision of these Terms, you must immediately cease all access to and use of the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time; material updates will be communicated via your registered account email or a prominent banner notice on the Service.

02. Description of Service & AI Processing

AutoChangelog provides an intelligent software-as-a-service platform that analyzes software repository commit histories, pull request metadata, and tags to generate structured, human-readable release notes ("Changelogs").

The Service utilizes Large Language Models (LLMs) to synthesize and summarize technical diffs. While our algorithms are optimized for high precision, you acknowledge that AI-generated text requires human oversight. You retain sole responsibility for reviewing, editing, and verifying the accuracy of generated Changelogs before publishing them to your end users.

03. GitHub Integration & Zero-Store Security Commitment

OAuth Scoping: Connecting your GitHub repository requires OAuth2 authentication. You grant AutoChangelog strictly scoped, read-only permissions to retrieve commit headers, author usernames, timestamps, pull request descriptions, and tag labels.

Zero Source Code Storage: AutoChangelog does not clone, mirror, or permanently store your proprietary source code files on our servers. Commit diffs are processed ephemerally in memory during changelog synthesis and are purged immediately after output generation.

User Authorization: You affirm that you possess all necessary repository rights, organization permissions, and intellectual property authorizations to connect any software repository to the Service.

04. Subscriptions, Billing, & Cancellation

Billing Cycles: Paid subscriptions ("Pro Plan") are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis via our secure payment gateway (Stripe). Payment is charged at the start of each billing cycle.

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account dashboard or Stripe Billing Portal. Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of the paid billing period.

Refund Policy: Payments are non-refundable except where mandated by law or in cases of demonstrable billing errors reported within 7 business days of the charge.

05. Ownership of Intellectual Property & Data Rights

Your Code & Generated Content: You retain 100% ownership of your repositories, commits, brand assets, and generated Changelogs. We claim no intellectual property rights over any content you create or process using the Service.

Platform Property: AutoChangelog, its software code, UI designs, trademarks, brand assets, algorithms, and documentation are the exclusive property of AutoChangelog. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, resell, or duplicate any part of the Service.

06. Public Explore Feed & User Conduct

If you publish Changelogs with the Explore Feed option enabled, your release notes will be visible to the public. You agree not to publish content that is illegal, defamatory, infringes on third-party patents or copyrights, or contains malicious code links.

We reserve the right to remove any public changelog or suspend accounts that violate our community standards or acceptable use guidelines without prior notice.

07. Limitation of Liability & Warranty Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AUTOCHANGELOG DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL AUTOCHANGELOG BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTIONS) ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO AUTOCHANGELOG IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
